Introduction
The Financial Literacy Club at Diablo Valley College is a student-run organization dedicated to helping peers develop essential financial skills. Through workshops, events, and discussions, the club provides guidance on topics such as budgeting, saving, investing, and understanding credit. As the club grew, it needed a clear and professional visual identity to strengthen its presence on campus and communicate its mission effectively.
Initial Sketches
The design process began with rough sketches that explored different directions, reflecting financial themes while remaining approachable to students. Early concepts included imagery such as coins and piggy banks, which landed the design in a cute and playful direction. We wanted to go with a mascot design for the logo, so we could incorporate it into our content design. The goal was to strike a balance between professionalism and accessibility, ensuring the logo felt both credible and welcoming.

Final Logo
The final logo balances professionalism with approachability through a playful piggy bank design. Paired with typography that complements the minimalistic yet vibrant style, the piggy bank symbolizes saving and financial responsibility in a way that is instantly recognizable. The color palette features teal and orange, chosen for their energy and friendliness, reinforcing the theme of financial growth while keeping the identity modern and approachable. The simplicity of the design ensures flexibility across both digital and print applications.
